Our Verdict:

It’s no exaggeration to say that Unibet is one of the very best sportsbooks you can use right now. There are hardly any weak points in this brand’s offering, while there are a whole lot of things to love. It’s hard to know what Unibet’s biggest strength is. You could say it’s the enormous range of betting markets, which is one of the most impressive around. You could say it’s the excellent customer service instead, or the nice range of payment options. The brilliant live streaming feature would be many people’s pick, although the bet builder and live betting tools, and the mobile apps are also impressive.

On top of all that, there are no real weak points here. Ideally you might like a few more ongoing promotions, but those which are in place are strong. Aside from that, this is simply a brilliantly well-rounded sportsbook, with an excellent track record. We have no hesitation at all in recommending that you sign up, take advantage of your risk-free bet, and give this fantastic bookie a go.

Intro

Unibet is definitely one of the best-known betting brands in the UK. While it’s a Swedish-run company, this bookie has its origins in London, and has since expanded to become a gambling colossus. In his comprehensive Unibet review, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about the current state of the sportsbook. We’ll review its betting markets, odds, special offers, mobile features, and plenty more besides. Overall, our aim here is to help you decide whether joining Unibet is worth both your time and money.

Unibet Sign Up offer

The vast majority of British sportsbooks nowadays offer similar ‘Bet and Get’ welcome offers. With Unibet, however, you have a very interesting alternative. The Unibet welcome offer is a big-time ‘risk-free bet’. In this case, your first bet must simply be at least £1. If that wager wins, you’ll keep your winnings as normal. If it loses, however, you’ll get a full refund on your stake, up to £40.

Notable terms and conditions

Here are the most important terms and conditions for the offer:

  • New customers only, 18+
  • Minimum first deposit of £10
  • First wager must be £1 or more, with minimum odds of 2/5 (1.40)
  • If your first bet loses, receive a matching bonus worth up to £40
  • 3x rollover requirement for the bonus
  • Minimum odds of 2/5 for rollover bets
  • Rollover must be completed within seven days

How to claim your welcome bonus?

Claiming this welcome offer barely differs from your regular betting. Still, here’s a quick guide on how to do so:

  • Sign up to Unibet (see the next section), and make a deposit of at least £10
  • Place any sports wager, with a stake of at least £1
  • If the wager wins, keep your winnings as normal
  • If it loses, receive a matching bonus worth up to £40
  • If you received your bonus, bet through that amount 3x within seven days

Overall, if you’re looking for a distinct alternative to the same old welcome offers, this is a good shout. Getting your first wager insured for up to £40 is generous, and the qualifying odds of only 2/5 are nice and low. The 3x wagering requirement on your bonus, however, is the only thing stopping this from being a perfect welcome offer.

How to Register an account?

Unibet has the look and feel of a premium sportsbook. The interface is extremely well streamlined here, making the platform easy to use from the very start. Here are the few steps you must take to get started:

  • Visit Unibet
    Unibet registration

Obviously, you need to head to Unibet to get started. You do, however, have two distinct ways of doing so. The first is to simply use the desktop site. The second is to download one of the mobile apps, which we’ll review shortly. Either way though, you’ll be following the same basic steps.

  • Create Your Account
    Unibet account page

Begin by bringing up the Unibet home page then clicking the big, yellow Register button in the top-right. You can now select which welcome offer you want to claim (there are separate deals for poker, casino games, and so on). Once you’ve done so, proceed to provide the necessary personal information, then set a username and password. Finally, just agree to the general T&Cs and finish creating your account.

  • Make a Deposit
    Unibet deposit

Log in to your new account, using the details you just set, then hit the Deposit button towards the top-right of your screen. By clicking Change Payment Method, you can see a full list of your deposit options. Choose one and provide the necessary details, then enter how much you wish to deposit, and finally confirm the payment.

  • Start Betting

Unibet betting page

Now that your account is funded, you can start betting. Use the main menu, to the left, to choose the sport you wish to bet on, then select a specific matchup. Find a specific bet type you like the look of, and click its odds to add it to your betslip. Then simply set a stake within that betslip, and confirm the wager.

Unibet Ongoing Promotions

We’ve already looked at Unibet’s intriguing welcome offer. While it doesn’t have the widest range of ongoing promotions to back this up, there are still a few solid deals to provide you with further rewards.

  • £150 Refer a Friend Bonus– This is definitely the most exciting Unibet deal for existing customers. It’s a classic referral deal, which you can trigger up to three times for three different friends. If those friends sign up and meet the wagering requirements, you’ll get hefty bonuses in return. These will be £30 the first time, then £40, and finally £80. Do be aware, however, that each bonus has a 5x wagering requirement.
  • Money Back Specials- Horse racing is a clear priority for Unibet, as shown by it being the main focus for special offers. There are three racing deals in total, but this is probably our favourite. The Money Back offer kicks in when you place a Race Winner bet on an eligible race. If your chosen runner ends up finishing 2nd or 3rd instead, you’ll get a full refund – in cash – of up to £10 or £20 depending on the race.
  • Horse Racing Classics- In addition to the deal listed above, Unibet has the two most famous horse racing promos of all in place. The first is a classic Best Odds Guaranteed deal. This covers all British and Irish races, and automatically gives you the starting price if it’s superior to your original odds. If your odds remain better, then you simply keep them instead. The second is – you guessed it – an Extra Places offer. This is available on dozens of courses around the world each day, and – as usual – gives you at least one extra place on your Each Way bets.
  • Daily Uniboost- We’ll look at Unibet’s bet builder in more detail shortly. For now, just know that Unibet reserves an excellent promo specifically for this feature. Use the bet builder to create a same-game multiples bet with at least three selections, and a stake of up to £10, and you’ll be shown the Uniboost button. Clicking this will boost your odds – and your potential winnings – significantly.

Unibet Betting Markets and bet types

It’s no exaggeration to say that Unibet has one of the best market selections you’ll find right now. We counted almost 40 different unique sporting categories, and some of those – like motorsports and eSports – encompass multiple subsections. Added together, this gives you thousands upon thousands of betting opportunities, each and every day. Here are just a few of the bet types you’ll find, for the biggest markets of all:

Betting Market Bet Types
Football Betting
  • Outright Bets
  • Match Result
  • Over/Unders
  • Handicaps
Horse Racing Betting
  • Race Winner
  • Each Way
  • Exotic Multiples
  • Ante Post
Tennis betting
  • Outright Bets
  • Match Winner
  • Handicap Betting
  • Set by Set / Game by Game
Cricket betting
  • Match Result
  • Toss Winner
  • Over/Under Runs Scored
  • Player Props
eSports betting
  • Match Winner
  • First Kill
  • Tournament Winner
  • Map by Map Betting

Football has the most individual betting opportunities here, as you’d expect, with the coverage for the beautiful game being truly excellent. Several other sports had well over 1,000 markets though, including basketball, baseball, and even Aussie rules. Horse racing is also a massive priority, and is even given its own separate (enormous) section on the website.

In addition to those, and the markets in the table above, there are some three dozen other sports you can bet on. Here are just a few of the main examples:

  • Boxing
  • Golf
  • North American Sports
  • Rugby
  • Darts
  • Badminton
  • Table Tennis
  • MMA

In short, the betting coverage here is phenomenal. Whatever you could realistically hope to bet on, you’ll be able to do so on Unibet.

Unibet Betting Odds

Even betting selections as impressive as Unibet’s can be ruined by inferior odds. We’re happy to say, however, that you don’t need to worry about that here. To ensure you were getting fair prices, we compared Unibet’s odds on several major markets to those being offered by its main competitors. In each case, we found Unibet’s prices to be at least in line, if not superior.

Where Unibet really impresses in this department, however, is in its incredible range of odds boosts. These are available for various sports, but those for football and horse racing are definitely the most impressive. The sizes of the boosts tend to be large, and the markets for which they’re offered intriguing. Most importantly, these help to ramp up your potential profits significantly.

Unibet Betting Features

As bettors, we have different expectations for premium bookies – like Unibet – when it comes to special features, than for lesser-known brands. We’d still say, however, that Unibet will meet, and perhaps exceed your expectations in this department. Here are just a few of the most impressive examples.

Live Streaming

This is easily the most exciting feature of all on Unibet. The streaming section here – called UnibetTV – might be the best among UK sportsbooks right now.

The range and level of sports on offer is spectacular. Some of the biggest competitions in the world are covered, including the NBA, NFL, and NHL, through to every single British and Irish horse race. Not only that, but the actual quality of the streams is also fantastic, whether you’re using a desktop or mobile device.

Live Betting Tools

You won’t be surprised to learn that Unibet has live betting tools in place, which work in perfect tandem with the streaming options. The actual quality of those tools deserves a mention, however, with both the live betting and cash out features working flawlessly. In addition, events which aren’t streamed – like Premier League matches – are still covered brilliantly in-play. This is done through both a solid visualisation tool, and a nice range of live statistics.

Bet Builder

This is another area in which Unibet is on a par with the best brands around. Its bet builder tool is incredibly easy to use, and features a nice range of bet types. Strangely, it’s currently only available on football, but the quality of the tool makes up for this absence of other options. Not only that, but – as noted previously – you even get odds boosts specifically to use with the bet builder.

Betting Tips

Unibet maintains an excellent blog section. This not only keeps you up to date with the latest sports news, but gives you plenty of useful information for your betting too. Better still, however, is its partnership with the famous Racing Post. This has resulted in an absolutely fantastic range of non-stop betting tips for fans of horse racing, which can be accessed directly through the individual page for each eligible race.

Bet Calculator

If you’d like a little extra help as you plan your wagers, we’d recommend checking out the bet calculator. You’ll find this in the main sportsbook section, and can use it to calculate your potential returns for all manner of wagers. It can be tailored for a wide range of bet types, odds, stakes, and so on, and there’s even some helpful information – including on different bet types – for beginners.

Virtual Sports

Virtual sports aren’t to everyone’s tastes. If you enjoy them personally, however, Unibet is a fantastic option. You’ll find a very nice range of options here, including football, cricket, horse racing, and basketball. New matchups kick off constantly, all around the clock, and you’re given a nice range of bet types to choose between, particularly for football.

Online Casino

Should you fancy a change of pace from your sports betting, you’ll also find that Unibet has an entire online casino in place. Just like the sportsbook, this is excellent. It features both regular and live casino games aplenty, plus slots, bingo games, and even an entire separate poker section in which you can compete against other human players.

Mobile App

As you’d expect from a premium sportsbook, Unibet has downloadable mobile betting apps in place. These are available for both iOS and Android devices, straight from the App Store and Google Play.

We found the Unibet app to be excellent, during our testing. The interface is intuitively designed, as on the desktop site, but smart adjustments to the layout, text, and numbers have been made to suit the smaller screen size. The performance levels were fantastic, and we experienced no crashes at all. Elsewhere, this is one of the most feature-packed betting apps you’ll find. All of the live streaming options have been carried over from the desktop site, and there are also live Unibet betting tools, odds boosts, and the full range of betting markets.

For more info on downloading betting apps, visit our mobile betting app page.

Customer Support

This is yet another area in which Unibet seriously impresses. There are three ways to get in touch – live chat, email, and phone – and support is available 24/7, which is obviously excellent. You’ll typically find the support itself to be useful and friendly, and we received rapid and helpful responses during our testing for this Unibet betting review. Our only criticism here is that actually finding the support options is annoyingly difficult. Unibet clearly pushes you towards using the FAQ section instead. This help centre is admittedly excellent, and is absolutely packed with concise and useful articles. We’d still prefer to be able to access the live chat tool with the simple click of a button though, as on most modern sportsbooks.

Deposit/Withdrawal Options

Unibet won’t blow you away with its payment options, but there are enough choices here to get the job done. These include traditional methods like debit card and bank transfer, newer ones like eWallets, and even a mobile-only option in Apple Pay. Pleasingly, all these options are compatible with the welcome offer, which isn’t the case on most sportsbooks. If you’re a more casual bettor, the minimum deposit amount of £5 makes this an accessible bookie for you, and all deposits are processed instantly. The processing times for payouts are also relatively fast, and no annoying transaction fees are charged.

Below, you can get a summary of how all Unibet’s payment options stack up in several key areas.

Payment Method Minimum Deposit Minimum Withdrawal Processing Time
Debit Card £5 £15 1-3 working days
Bank Transfer £5 £10 3-5 working days
Neteller £5 £15 Up to 12 hours
Paysafecard £10 N/A N/A
Skrill £5 £15 Up to 12 hours
Apple Pay £5 £10 Less than 24 hours

Unibet in the Media

Unibet has a long and impressive track record, having originally launched in 1997. It was the brainchild of Swede Anders Strom, who still plays a major role to this day, and the company is actually publicly listed on the Stockholm stock exchange.

While it originally launched as an independent sportsbook, Unibet is now part of a larger group called Kindred. This group includes other popular brands like 32Red and Bingo.com. Unibet has won a number of industry awards over the years, most recently taking home impressive trophies in both Romania and the Netherlands. This speaks to the international nature of Unibet, which – according to its own site – now operates in over 100 countries, and has some 9.5 million users.

FAQ

You have a huge range of options here, with thousands of betting opportunities available at any one time. Football and horse racing are the clear priorities, but you can also wager on eSports, golf, cricket, rugby, and plenty more besides.

Absolutely. Its track record goes back to 1997, and it has a massive base of satisfied users. It also holds multiple betting licences, has strong security features, and uses secure payment methods.

Newcomers can get a risk-free bet of up to £40. After that you’ll find some solid ongoing promotions waiting for you, including plenty of odds boosts, several horse racing deals, and an excellent referral scheme.

There is indeed a Unibet mobile app, which is available for both iOS and Android users. During our testing we found this to be speedy, reliable, and - like the desktop site - packed with features.
