Our Verdict:

Bet Target are one of the more unusual betting sites we’ve reviewed here.

The reason we say that is that there’s a certain level of inconsistency across what they do.

By that we mean that in some areas they’re highly impressive, in others they’re not meeting the standards others are setting. And they will need to do so in the future, if they’re to kick on and grab a bigger share of the market.

A couple of examples.

On the one hand, their welcome offer itself is quite small where the value of your free bet is less than that of your qualifying bet (bad) but on the other hand there are no wagering requirements on winnings from the free bet (good).

Another example: their eSports product is rich with lots of different Esports leagues and matches to bet on more than most. On the other hand, they don’t live stream any of the events which lots of other sites offering far fewer eSports betting opportunities, do.

They have a decent supply of payment methods to use, but they charge fees on deposits and take too long with withdrawals.

We could go on, but you get the picture: they’re very strong in some areas but have somewhat neglected others.

And these days with such a huge choice of betting sites out there, some of the things just mentioned could be the difference between customers opening accounts and sticking around, or not.

But as with all new betting companies, we’re going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they’ll build on their good work by adding certain features and improving on others.

And we hope they do because they certainly have potential to be a favourite among customers who enjoy betting on lots of different sports.

Strengths

  • Over 50 different sports including the likes of Aussie Rules and winter sports, that not many bookies offer.
  • Extremely large number of eSports events to bet on.
  • Bet Builder product available for sports beyond football including baseball, basketball and Aussie Rules.
  • Very comprehensive FAQ section.
  • Good choice of e-wallets to deposit and withdraw with.
  • ‘Favourites’ feature allows you to line up bets and come back to them later.

Weaknesses

  • Very limited availability of live streaming.
  • 5% fee charged on deposits for several payment methods.
  • Withdrawals can take far too long on certain payment methods.
  • No Best Odds Guaranteed.
  • Odds not competitive on certain sports, especially cricket.
  • Limited number of ongoing promos.

Intro

Bet Target have little in the way of excuses when it comes to being a successful betting company.

After all, they’re owned by Karamba Limited, who in turn are owned by Esports Technologies. Karamba Limited have been in the betting business for a long time, with other brands in their portfolio including Karamba and Hopa.

And Bet Target are powered by another experienced operator in the shape of Aspire Global International Ltd, based in Malta and operating under the Malta Gaming Authority license. Bet Target itself, in turn, holds the UK Gambling Commission License.

They’ve been operating since August 2021 and adopt the motto CARE- Customers Are Really Everything.

Sign Up offer

This is the stage of the Bet Target Sports review where we talk about the Bet Target Sports sign-up offer.

At first glance, a Bet 15 Get 10 welcome offer doesn’t seem like you’re getting much bang for your buck.

After all, there are plenty of Bet 10 Get 20 or Bet 15 Get 30 welcome offers out there that offer you more in bonuses or free bets, than what you’re placing as a qualifying bet in order to get them.

The key here are the terms and conditions of the offer. More precisely that the £10 free bet doesn’t come with any wagering requirements. Most welcome offers do, meaning that any wins from your free bet need to be wagered through a number of times before they can be withdrawn.

Whereas you can of course carry on betting with real money using those wins, actually being able to meet the wagering requirements with a view to withdrawing them is easier said than done.

And that’s the value of the free bet not having any wagering requirements at all, even if it’s a bit smaller than most other welcome offers.

Notable terms and conditions

  • The free bet can’t be used on horseracing, greyhound racing or any outright markets.
  • You have 14 days to use the free bet.
  • The £15 qualifying bet must be placed at odds of at least 2.0.
  • The £10 free bet token must be placed at odds of 1.8 or higher.
  • The following deposit methods will prevent you from being able to claim the welcome offer: PayPal, Neteller, Paysafecard, Skrill.

How to claim the welcome offer

  • Register an account.
  • Make a deposit for at least £15 remembering to avoid certain payment methods which are ineligible.
  • Place a qualifying bet of at least £15 at odds of 2.0 remembering that bets on racing and on outrights don’t count.
  • Use your free bet token within 14 days to place a bet at odds of 1.8 or greater.

Ongoing Promotions

At the time we checked for Bet Target promotions, they were a little thin on the ground.

Clicking on the ‘Promotions’ tab in the top left-hand corner displays a few of them but in truth, most of them are betting features rather than betting offers.

For example, Bet Builders aren’t a promotion, they’re just an alternative way of placing a multiple bet where you’re betting on several selections within the same match rather than across different events.

Same for Cash Out. It’s not the bookie giving you something like a free bet or cashback, it’s just an option that allows you to secure a win of sorts on a bet rather than just hoping it goes on to win.

We cover these two below in greater detail when discussing betting features but like we say, they don’t come under our definition of promos. But this one does.

Bet Target Combo Boost

Adding a few more selections to your combo will also see you add a few percentage points to what you win. Or to put it another way: having a combo bet with four or more selections sees your payout topped up and the more selections you have, the more it will be topped up by.

  • 4-folds – 4%
  • 5-folds – 7%
  • 6-folds – 10%
  • 7-folds – 15%
  • 8-folds – 20%
  • 9-folds – 25%
  • 10-folds – 30%
  • 11-folds – 35%
  • 12-folds – 40%
  • 13-folds – 45%
  • 14-folds – 50%
  • 15-folds – 77%

To be eligible, each selection must be at odds of 1.5 or greater. The selections can be from any sport, just remembering that if it’s horseracing, it must be placed on the day of the race.

Any ‘top up’ thanks to the offer will see the extra cash credited to your account as ‘Extra Winnings’ and it may take 5 minutes for this to be done.

Importantly, the cash is just that: cash. So again, there are no wagering requirements on the extra winnings.

Whereas there’s nothing wrong with the offer, it’s worth reminding customers that combo bets with 7, 8, 9+ selections very rarely win.

So don’t be too greedy when it comes to adding more and more selections to your combo just because the percentage of extra winnings goes up for each extra selection.

Betting Markets and bet types

Bet Target betting is available across close to 50 different sports, although that does admittedly include all the different eSports as stand-alone sports; it’s a little debatable as to whether they should be classed as such. But anyway.

What isn’t debatable is that they’re right up there as one of the betting sites we’ve seen that offer the greatest variety of sports.

We’ll look into the more obvious ones just now but aside from those, some of the more niche ones include: Aussie Rules, Gaelic football and Gaelic hurling, field hockey, pesapallo and winter sports.

What’s interesting is that it’s certainly an unusual mix of sports. Pesapallo for example is pretty much only followed by Finnish customers, while Aussie Rules is hardly known at all outside Australia; the two GAA Sports are only watched and bet on in Ireland.

But that’s not a bad thing. It means customers from all over the world can bet on their favourite sports here.

Other sports

eSports

Most betting sites that offer eSports tend to just offer the ones that generate the greatest interest, more precisely: Dota 2, League of Legends and Counter-Strike.

Not only do Bet Target (obviously) let you bet on matches involving those games but plenty more as well, including: Overwatch, Call of Duty, StarCraft and Valorant.

They’ve clearly really embraced eSports because in addition to covering so many games, they offer betting on both international and domestic leagues and lots of markets within the games themselves.

What they don’t do despite being so strong on their eSports offering is have live streaming of the games while they’re in progress.

Betting Odds

So how are the Bet Target betting odds?

Unfortunately, this is one of the areas where they’re going to need to improve on.

As an example, in one IPL match they had RCB at 1.7 and Gujarat Titans at 1.87. That’s a house edge of 12.3%. That’s far too much and the savvier punter will instantly recognise that as being poor value prices with a house edge that’s far too high.

Looking at the upcoming Premier League matches for the weekend and they were closer to a 6-7% over-round, which is far more acceptable, although some betting sites are still more generous than that.

In other words, rather than having a fixed house edge across all markets, they vary from one sport and market to another. That’s fine, but too many markets where all outcomes are too short may test their customers’ patience in the long run.

Betting Features

Now is the time in this Bet Target betting review where we consider the special features that the website has that we liked.

My Favourites

Most customers tend to play the same sports or leagues/markets within those sports week-in-week-out.

It will certainly save them time in the future if they can choose certain sports/leagues under their ‘Favourites’ and view all of them together in one place as soon as they log in. That includes lining up bets that you’re thinking of placing, saving them to your Favourites and then deciding if you actually want to strike the bet at some stage in the future.

By saving what you like to your ‘Favourites’, you can cut to the chase and only see the stuff you’re interested in betting on rather than a load of events from sports you don’t care about. It may seem like a slightly irrelevant feature at first glance, but it’s actually pretty useful.

Bet Builder

Offering a Bet Builder product on a load of football matches is par for the course these days.

Not only Bet Target have a decent product for football, but they’ve extended Bet Builders to other sports as well, which not many bookies do.

Those sports include basketball, baseball and Aussie Rules. So in this sense, they’re quite unique in having this increasingly popular product available for sports beyond football.

Mobile App

There is no Bet Target betting app.

On the one hand, it’s somewhat typical that a streamlined betting site that’s not too rich in the way of features doesn’t have its own app.

On the other hand, apps aren’t always that much better than a mobile-friendly version of the site that you access via your internet browser.

So as long as that works well, which it does, it’s not that big a deal and they may well design their own app in the future anyway.

Customer Support

Got a query?

Don’t know how to deposit or withdraw? Not sure how wagering requirements work? Want to know why a KYC check is important and what documents you’ll need to pass it?  Want to know why you weren’t able to Cash Out your bet? Or not sure how to claim a sports bonus?

With around 150 FAQs provided with useful and knowledgeable answers, you’ll see many of your questions answered without having to do any more than navigating to this area of the site.

But if your issue still isn’t solved, you can contact them via e-mail (support@bettarget.com) and they’re pretty quick to get back to you.

You can also reach them via numerous social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) but not currently via Live Chat or telephone.

Deposit/Withdrawal Options

Good news: Bet Target has more payment options available than you’d probably expect from a betting site that seems to cut back on a few things. And using cards or e-wallets for deposits means the money should be in your account almost instantly.

Just bear in mind that some of the methods listed here are only available if you’re a customer from a particular country; so not every one of the methods included below will be available everywhere.

Bad news: as you can see, they’re very much on the slow side when it comes to withdrawals.

It’s one thing taking up to six business days to process a bank transfer withdrawal, but it really shouldn’t be taking that long when it comes to cards and e-wallets. Half that waiting time would be more in line with other sites.

More bad news: they’ve taken the curious decision to charge 2.5% on just about any deposit made, irrespective of the payment method.

So, a deposit for £100 is actually going to cost you £102.50 in real terms.

It’s a decision that’s hard to justify. Fees on deposits aren’t meant to be how bookies make their money and very few do have these charges; so, customers will understandably be disgruntled.

Sure, it’s not life-changing amounts of money with these fees but it’s more the principle of it.

Bet Target in the media

Bet Target bought up by EBET

Esports Technologies has rebranded itself as EBET after diversifying into traditional sports betting and casino to go with their core product of eSports betting.

In the process it has also bought betting operators Bet Target, Dansk777 and Generation VIP as a way of trying to strengthen its position in Europe, where it’s targeting regulated markets such as Germany, Ireland, Denmark and Malta.

FAQ

It certainly does. In addition to Bet Builders being available on football, as is the case with most betting sites, you can also create them for baseball, basketball and Aussie Rules.

Yes, it does. It’s available on such sports as soccer, tennis, basketball, volleyball and cricket. But customers should be aware of which specific events it’s available for and also be aware that bets won’t always be available for Cash Out in live betting or may be suspended at key times during the match.
