Our Verdict

BritainBet clearly isn’t a premium sportsbook in its own right. That said, it genuinely competes with some of the biggest brands around in a number of key areas, and is definitely worthy of attention.

In certain areas, you’ll find BritainBet to be incredibly impressive. Most notably, its market selection really is one of the best around right now. The odds for these markets are also competitive (if unspectacular), and the live betting tools are fantastic. This is also a nicely stripped-down and straightforward platform, which will appear to less experienced bettors and veterans alike. Finally, the ongoing promotions are also high in quantity and quality.

It’s not all good news, as we’ve highlighted throughout our review. There are some obvious absences, like live streaming and – more confusingly – a mobile app. The welcome offer isn’t exactly thrilling either, and there’s also the minor annoyance of paying a withdrawal fee, even if it is small.

On balance though, there’s plenty to like here. This is a solid all-round platform, with few important weak spots, and plenty of good strong points.

Strengths:

  • Massive selection of betting markets
  • Excellent live betting tools
  • Nice range of ongoing promotions
  • Good customer support
  • Good choice of payment options

Weaknesses:

  • Lack of a mobile app
  • Small transaction fee for withdrawals
  • Not the most exciting welcome offer

Intro

Some betting companies choose to focus their efforts exclusively on one brand. Others, however, open up a series of different sportsbooks instead. ProgressPlay has been one of the most ambitious examples of the latter in recent years, and BritainBet is definitely one of its flagship sportsbooks.

In our comprehensive BritainBet review, you’ll learn everything you need to know about this relatively new sportsbook. We’ll evaluate its betting markets, special offers, customer service quality and more. Ultimately, we’ll help you decide if this is the right bookie for your particular needs.

BritainBet Sign Up offer

Like all good sportsbooks, BritainBet has a special offer in place reserved exclusively for new customers. In this case, it’s a classic ‘Bet and Get’ deal. Newcomers here can bet £10, and will receive a £10 free bet in return.

Naturally there’s a full set of terms and conditions for this promo. We’d encourage you to check them out properly, before attempting to claim the deal, but here are the most important ones:

  • New customers only, aged 18+
  • First deposit must be £10 or more
  • Neteller and Skrill deposits ineligible
  • Must place a qualifying wager of at least £10
  • Receive £10 free bet. Must be used at odds of 1/2 (1.50) or greater
  • 1x rollover requirement for bonus winnings
  • Rollover must be completed within 7 days of receiving bonus
  • Players can only receive one welcome bonus across the ProgressPlay network

All of this is fairly standard stuff. As you can see below, the actual process for claiming your welcome bonus is also pretty straightforward.

  • Create your BritainBet account (see next section for full instructions)
  • Make a deposit of at least £10
  • Place wagers totalling £10 or more
  • Receive then use your £10 free bet
  • Complete the 1x rollover requirement within 7 days

Overall, this is a decent welcome offer, but it’s not exactly thrilling. The basic value proposition – of doubling your spending power, on a £10 deposit and wager – is fine. There are other deals out there which will give you £20, or even £30 in exchange for a £10 spend, though. The 1x rollover requirement is also a minor irritation, but the fact that there are no minimum odds for this – or for your qualifying bet – is generous.

Finally, be aware that you can only claim a welcome bonus on one ProgressPlay sportsbook. If you’ve previously used the sign up offers on a bookie like WinstonBet, Tebwin, or RubyBet, for example, you’ll be ineligible for this deal.

How to sign up to BritainBet?

In general, you’ll find BritainBet to be a pretty no-nonsense betting site. This applies from the registration process at the very beginning, with these being the few simple steps you must take to get started.

  • Bring Up BritainBet
    BritainBet registration process screenshot

Your first step, naturally, is to bring up the BritainBet home page. With no mobile apps available (more on that later), you’ll be doing this using either your desktop or mobile browser. In each case, the signup process is identical.

  • Create Your Account
    BritainBet registration process screenshot

Click the Join Now button in the top right to kick-start the registration process. At the first stage, you must enter your email address and phone number, and set your password. Next, provide your name, address, and gender. Finally, just agree to the site-wide T&Cs, decide your marketing preferences, and hit the Submit button to finish creating your account.

  • Fund Your Account

Immediately after creating your account, you’ll be prompted to make a deposit. Should you want to do so later, just click the Cashier option along the top menu. Now just pick a payment method, and enter the amount you wish to deposit along with the necessary details. Finally, check everything over then confirm your payment.

  • Start Betting

Now that your account is created and funded, the fun can begin in earnest. Use the menu on the left-hand side to access the sport you want to bet on, then pick a specific matchup. Browse the available markets, and click the odds next to one you’re interested in to add it to your betslip. Then just set a stake in that betslip, and place your wager.

BritainBet Ongoing Promotions

The BritainBet sign up offer is fine, but it won’t exactly blow you away. In circumstances like these, you especially like to see some good ongoing promotions in place. Below, you can learn about the deals which BritainBet does currently have in place, and whether they’re worth your time.

Cashback Offers

These are definitely the most numerous deals BritainBet has. There are currently three different variations in place, for football, basketball, and tennis. The first two are for specific events (the NBA Finals and Champions League Final), while the latter is more of a general promo.

In each case, you must enter a specific promo code while making a deposit of £10 or £20 to trigger that deal. A certain percentage of your losses will then be insured. For tennis and basketball, you get 10% of your losses back, up to a hefty £500, while with football it’s a 20% rebate. Better yet, since that rebate comes as cash, there are no rollover requirements attached.

We have no complaints at all about these promos. All three are excellent deals.

Wager Wars

Most of the time in sports betting, you’re betting ‘against’ yourself. The Wager Wars promotion, however, introduces some competition.

If you stake at least £50 on any sporting event, you’ll automatically be entered into the competition for that period. At the end of the period, the players with the highest wagering will win cash prizes. These go to the top five players, with the prizes – in cash – being £150, £125, £100, £7, and £50 respectively.

Football Leaderboard

This is an extremely similar deal to the aforementioned Wager Wars. As the name suggests, however, this promo is focused entirely on football. Once again, you must stake at least £50 on an event to qualify, and there are cash prizes for all five of the top entrants.

Rewards Program

This is basically the BritainBet loyalty program. Like most such schemes, you accumulate points here as you continue to bet. This can be done by ascending through the levels (simply by placing bets), by competing on the leaderboards mentioned above, or by completing ‘missions’, such as betting on a specific sporting event.

Once you’ve accumulated enough points, you can spend them in the Rewards Store. The prizes you can buy here are all pretty tasty, and include free bets, cashback deals, simple cash, and more.

This is definitely one of the better VIP programs around right now, and you don’t really need to go out of your way to partake.

Free Bet Mondays

Last but not least, we have Free Bet Mondays. As the name implies, this offer can be triggered once per week, every week, on a Monday.

To qualify, you must deposit at least £50 using the promo code FBM, then wager £50 on an event. Do so, and you can claim a hefty £20 free bet. The minimum odds when using that token are a respectable evens (2.0), and you’re given seven days to do so.

BritainBet Betting Markets and bet types

At first glance, after logging on for the first time, you might not necessarily think that BritainBet was a premium sportsbook. And, while it does indeed lack some features that the biggest brands have, this is one area in which it can stand toe-to-toe with anyone.

The betting market selection here is absolutely fantastic. We counted 32 distinct sports that you can wager on, which is a brilliant offering in anyone’s book. Some of those actually include a whole range of sub-categories too – most notably the one for eSports – and we haven’t even counted the markets for TV shows and movies, or for politics.

Below, we’ve summed up a few of the main markets you’ll find for the very biggest British betting markets.

Betting Market Bet Types
Football
  • Outright Bets
  • Match Result
  • Double Chance
  • Draw No Bet
Horse Racing
  • Race Winner
  • Each Way
  • Forecast
  • Ante-Post
Tennis
  • Match Winner
  • Handicap Betting
  • Games Over/Under
  • Game and Set Winners
Cricket
  • Match Result
  • Outright Bets
  • Runs Over/Unders
  • Wicket Methods
eSports
  • Tournament Winner
  • Over/Unders
  • Map by Map Betting
  • First Kill Player Prop

Football is the biggest market by far here, as you’d expect from a British sportsbook. There were over 500 upcoming games available to bet on at the time of writing, representing thousands of individual betting opportunities in total.

Elsewhere, the sections for tennis, table tennis, and eSports were also packed with matches to bet on. Just a few of the other sports you’ll find here include:

  • Basketball
  • Baseball
  • American Football
  • Motor Racing
  • Rugby
  • Boxing
  • Golf

We haven’t even touched here on the inclusion of niche markets, like handball, lacrosse, speedway, and water polo. It’s a pretty fair guess though, that – if you’re interested in betting on a sport – you’ll be able to do so on BritainBet.

Betting Odds

We were extremely impressed with BritainBet’s market selection. Obviously that’s not the be-all, end-all, however, with the actual quality of the odds for those markets also being extremely important.

BritainBet performs well here, but – as with the welcome offer – won’t exactly blow you away. The prices are… okay. They’re more or less in line with what’s offered by the competition, which is fair enough, although we couldn’t find any noteworthy markets where they really stood out. We also couldn’t find any enhanced or boosted odds, which a lot of punters like to seek out.

Overall, BritainBet’s prices are absolutely fine. But you’re definitely not choosing this bookie based on its odds alone.

Betting Features

As touched upon already, we wouldn’t call BritainBet a premium sportsbook. It would be unfair to compare it with the industry titans like Bet365 or William Hill, and – indeed – it does lack some of the features you’ll find on those sites.

That being said, there are still some handy tools to help you out. Here are the main examples:

  • In-Play Betting

Obviously, it would be a shock if a modern-day sportsbook didn’t let you place live bets. BritainBet goes above and beyond in this respect, however. The live betting section is extensive to say the least, and you’re given a nice variety of bet types to choose between. The odds are also fair and update regularly, and actually getting your live bets down is a quick and painless process.

  • Cash Out Tool

Placing wagers is only half of the live betting equation, and BritainBet covers the other half with aplomb. There’s an excellent cash out tool in place here, which also offers you fair odds depending on the current state of play. Black-outs are kept to a minimum, and you can see very easily in advance which of your bets will be cash out-eligible, thanks to a green dollar symbol beside them.

  • Live Stats and Information

Live streaming is a notable absence here, but not a surprising one. In its place though, you’ll find a variety of other tools to help you out. Most notable is the visualisation tool, which – while basic – is clean and easy to understand. You also get live stats for ongoing matchups, which are constantly updated, plus a timeline of everything that’s happened in a match so far.

  • Multiview

This is another great way in which BritainBet supports your in-play gambling. Keeping up with multiple ongoing matchups can be a pain for live bettors. With the Multiview feature though, you can actually put multiple games onto a grid format, and follow each of them from a single screen.

  • Quick Bet

BritainBet makes your betting life easier in a few handy ways, and this is one of the better examples. With the Quick Bet tool, you can set a standard stake amount in advance. If you see a betting opportunity you like the look of, you can then activate the Quick Bet feature, and – by simply clicking on the odds – that wager will automatically be placed.

  • Superbet

This tool is specifically designed for the high rollers. If there’s a market you really like the look of, and you want to place a wager exceeding the usual maximum stake amount, you can take it as a ‘Superbet’. The BritainBet betting traders will then decide whether or not to approve your request, and – if they do – your bet will be placed.

BritainBet Betting App

You won’t find a downloadable mobile app from BritainBet. While we’ve been pretty forgiving of the bookie’s non-premium status elsewhere, we must say that this absence is pretty baffling. The platform has been live for several years now, and ProgressPlay is a big operating company.

Regardless, you’ll be entirely reliant on the mobile site for your on-the-go betting needs. Like the desktop platform, this doesn’t look particularly exciting, but is still pretty easy to use. The loading times were also pretty fast during our testing for this BritainBet betting review, most of the same tools were in place, and – overall – it’s good enough to get the job done.

Customer Support

Use any betting site for long enough, and eventually you’ll encounter an issue you can’t solve alone. With BritainBet, we’re happy to say that support will be available for that problem quickly and easily.

While there is a ticketing system through which you can send messages, you’re better off using the live chat tool instead. This is very easy to access, via a button in the bottom-right of your screen, and – best of all – support is available 24/7.

Elsewhere, there’s also a good amount of indirect support available. This comes via both a detailed FAQ section, and individual pages for Deposits, Withdrawals, and other key areas.

Deposit/Withdrawal Options

BritainBet doesn’t excel in every area, but this is definitely one of its stronger points. You’ll find a very good selection of ways to make payments here, ranging from the traditional (like debit card), to prepaid cards and eWallets. All deposits are processed instantly, and the minimum amounts are acceptable.

There are far fewer options for withdrawals, with the likes of Paysafecard and Payviaphone obviously being unavailable. More noteworthy, however, is the imposition of a transaction fee. It won’t exactly break the bank – at 1%, up to a maximum of £3 – but it’s definitely annoying. Payouts are also unusually slow, at up to seven business days.

Payment Method Minimum Deposit Minimum Withdrawal Processing Time
Debit Card £10 £2.50 3-7 working days
PayPal £10 £2.50 3-7 working days
Neosurf £15 N/A N/A
Payviaphone £10 N/A N/A
AstroPay £20 N/A N/A
Paysafecard £10 N/A N/A
Skrill £20 £2.50 1 working day
Neteller £20 £2.50 1 working day
MuchBetter £20 N/A N/A
Payz £20 £2.50 3 working days

BritainBet in the Media

BritainBet is still a relatively new sportsbook, having only launched in 2020. Its parent company, however – ProgressPlay – is an extremely experienced operator. The company has been active since 2012, and has two main businesses. Firstly, it delivers white label sports betting solutions to clients. Secondly, it runs its own sportsbooks, like BritainBet.

ProgressPlay is easily one of the most ambitious operating companies on the market. This year alone, at the time of writing, it has launched multiple new betting platforms, a fresh piece of responsible gambling technology, and been nominated for several industry awards.

Basically, BritainBet itself might be pretty new, but there’s a whole lot of experience and expertise behind it.

FAQ

Unfortunately not. There is a mobile version of the main website, however, which basically fulfils all the same purposes.

There are a massive 32 different options here. These range from big hitters like football, horse racing, and tennis, through to many more niche markets.

Newcomers get access to a respectable Bet £10, Get £10 welcome offer. After that, you’ll also find a nice range of ongoing promotions available.

Certainly. Its operating company - ProgressPlay - has a good reputation, and it holds licenses in both the UK and Malta.
