Nowadays, it is easier than ever before to create a new sportsbook. That’s true whether you’re developing the platform yourself, or enlisting the help of an experienced software provider like Aspire Global.

This convenience has resulted in a steady stream of new betting HighBets being launched, with HighBet being one of the latest examples. Aspire Global has indeed been enlisted to create this sports betting platform, which only launched in 2021.

In our comprehensive HighBet Review, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about this HighBet new sportsbook. We’ll cover its offers, betting markets, special features, customer support, and every other important area you need to know about. Ultimately, we’ll tell you whether or not it’s worth your time and money to sign up with HighBet.

HighBet Sign Up Offer

Like just about every sportsbook, HighBet does indeed have a sign up offer in place. While this is always a welcome reward for new customers, we can’t say – in this case – that the deal is particularly exciting.

The HighBet welcome offer is a classic ‘Bet X, Get Y’ deal. In this case, you’ll need to bet £15 to trigger the deal. In return, you’ll be given a £10 free bet. It’s all pretty straightforward, and – if you’ve got any experience at all with similar offers elsewhere – you’ll have no trouble getting started here.

To help you on your way though, here’s a quick and easy step-by-step guide on how to claim the HighBet welcome offer:

  1. Head to the HighBet home page
  2. Click the ‘Create Account’ button, to the left-hand side of your screen
  3. Follow the registration process to create your new account
  4. Make a deposit of at least £15
  5. Place your qualifying wager, following the T&Cs listed below
  6. Receive your £10 HighBet free bet token
  7. Spend it within the necessary time frame

To its credit, HighBet doesn’t try to hide any sneaky conditions or catches into its welcome offer. Instead, the terms and conditions are clear and well-written, with these being the main ones to watch out for:

  • Minimum first deposit £10
  • PayPal, Neteller, Paysafe, and Skrill deposits are ineligible
  • First bet must be £15 or more, at odds of evens (2.0) or greater
  • Receive £10 free bet token
  • Free bet must be used within 14 days
  • Minimum odds of 4/5 (1.80) apply to free bet
  • Free bet stakes not returned with winnings

Overall, this is a reasonable welcome offer, but certainly not the best you’ll find on the market right now. We normally look for at least a 1:1 return on your investment from a welcome offer, which this deal fails to meet, since your free bet token (£10) will be worth less than your qualifying wager (£15). The inclusion of minimum odds when using your free bet is also a little annoying.

With that said, the value here is still respectable. The minimum odds of evens for your qualifying wager give you a good chance at both winning that bet, and gaining a £10 free bet token. The minimum odds for the free bet itself are also nice and low, at 4/5, although we’d prefer it if there were none at all.

HighBet Ongoing Promotions

In addition to providing a welcome offer, the vast majority of sports betting sites will also provide a few ongoing promotions. After all, even the best sign up bonuses will only last a short amount of time. After that, punters are reliant on other deals to provide rewards for their continuing loyalty, and generally help their account balance go further.

HighBet, bizarrely, has simply ignored this tendency. At the time of writing, there are no ongoing promotions at all available here. In fact, the only other deal on the entire platform is the casino welcome offer, but you will be unable to claim both this and the sports welcome offer anyway.

While we wouldn’t call this lack of promotions a ‘deal-breaker’, it’s certainly disappointing. After all, setting up the likes of odds boosts or best odds guaranteed deals is hardly difficult, and we genuinely have no idea why HighBet hasn’t bothered to do so.

HighBet Markets & Betting Options

To an extent, the disappointment from HighBet’s lack of ongoing promotions is offset by the quality of the sportsbook itself. There is an extremely impressive range of options here, with over 20 different sports – both major and minor – being available to wager on.

Naturally, these include the biggest online betting market of all in the UK – football. In addition, your usual old British favourites – like cricket, golf, and rugby – are also covered, and we were also extremely pleased to see that horse racing had been included.

HighBet impresses by also backing up these big-hitters with a range of less-heralded markets. Its eSports subsection, for example, is very good indeed. You can also wager on the likes of motorsports, darts, and snooker, along with truly niche sports – for betting, at least – like table tennis and bandy.

Now that you’ve got a good overview of what HighBet has to offer sports bettors, let’s take a closer look at how it stacks up in several of the most important markets. After that, we’ll take a more general look at the other action you can get involved with.

Football

Football is the most popular sport for online betting in the UK, and it’s not even close. As such, we were pleased to see that HighBet had made the ‘beautiful game’ a clear priority on its sportsbook. In fact, there are more markets for football than for every other sport combined.

At the time of writing, there were over 1,700 individual betting opportunities for football fans on HighBet. These were spread across competitions all around the world. Naturally the likes of the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, and so on see the most attention. You can also check out markets on lesser-known leagues across Asia, South America, and elsewhere though, plus a wide range of continental and international contests.

HighBet doesn’t just impress with the breadth of its football coverage, however, but with the depth of it too. You can go far beyond simple 1X2 wagers here, with these being just a few of the other most popular bet types to choose between:

  • Over/Under Goals
  • Both Teams to Score
  • Total Corners
  • Double Chance
  • Winning Margin
  • Draw No Bet

In addition to those, you can also place both European and Asian handicap wagers, if you have a particularly strong feel for a match. There are also a smattering of player props available, which you can use to back a particular player to score, along with plenty of other player props. In short, the amount of flexibility you’re given here is commendable, letting you wager exactly how you want to on a given matchup.

Horse Racing

Newer brands are often unable to provide horse racing markets, due to licensing difficulties. We’re pleased to say this is not the case with HighBet, which has indeed managed to cover the ‘sport of kings’.

While there are no international courses covered here, you can wager on races being run in both the UK and Ireland. This gives you a steady stream of events on which to bet throughout the day, and you’re able to place both Race Winner and Each Way wagers. Pleasingly, HighBet also has a healthy selection of ante post markets, which means you can bet on major events like the Grand National and Cheltenham Festival months in advance.

eSports

The popularity of eSports has exploded over the past few years. Nowadays, a huge number of people want not only to play video games, but to watch the very best of the best competing at them too.

eSports betting is another area in which HighBet really impresses. All the main titles are covered here, including Dota 2, LoL, and CS:GO, and you can bet on the likes of Starcraft II as well. The markets for the biggest tournaments open a long time in advance, and – even after the action has begun – you’re still free to place in-play wagers, and capitalise on the momentum swings for which eSports are famous.

Other Sports

In addition to the trio listed above, HighBet provides 20 or so other sports on which you can wager. Intriguingly, it’s the big-time American leagues which tend to provide the most individual markets among these other options, such as the NBA, NFL, and NHL. You’ll also find dozens of betting opportunities for the likes of tennis, rugby, and handball at a given time though.

Pleasingly, HighBet doesn’t just stop at covering the most popular sports, which will draw the majority of the betting action. It also does a solid job of representing a wide range of other tastes, with the likes of cycling, boxing, futsal, and even water polo all being shown love too.

Live Betting

Like all modern-day sportsbooks, HighBet doesn’t limit you purely to placing pre-match wagers. Instead, you can bide your time, see how the action is unfolding, and get your wagers down in-play.

The in-play betting section is very easy indeed to access here, sitting right alongside the pre-match one. Click it, and you’ll immediately see every single matchup taking place at that time, sorted neatly by sport.

The quality of the odds for in-play markets is generally high, and provides a fair reflection of the latest goings-on. Greyed-out bets are a little more common here than we’d like, even for matchups for which the outcome is still in question, but – apart from that – we were impressed with the live betting markets.

HighBet Mobile Betting And Sports App

It is becoming increasingly common for sportsbooks to launch without a betting app in place. We’re not sure why, since it’s not exactly difficult to enlist the help of an app developer nowadays, but it’s true.

Unfortunately, that is indeed the case with HighBet too. At the time of writing, there is no mobile app available, for either iOS or Android bettors. Hopefully this situation will be fixed soon enough. In the meantime though, you’ll be reliant on the mobile website for your on-the-go betting needs.

The quality of this mobile site isn’t exactly sky-high, but it’s good enough to get the job done. You can access four of the most important areas – Home, Favourites, Betslip, and Settings – via an ever-present menu on the bottom of your screen. You can then use side scrolling menus to find the sport you want, and subsequently browsing the individual matchups is easy to do, or you can simply use the search function instead.

In terms of its performance, again the HighBet mobile site is good, but not great. While we didn’t encounter any crashes, the loading times here certainly aren’t the fastest, on either a WiFi or mobile data connection. This is something which would almost certainly be better on an actual, standalone mobile app.

HighBet Bookmaker Features

Up front, we’ll make it clear that HighBet isn’t exactly a ‘feature-packed’ sportsbook. There are enough tools here to get the job done, but the feature set is a long way behind that on premium brands like Bet365, William Hill, and so on.

Crucially, the live betting features are not only in place, but work very well indeed. The odds are fair, as noted earlier, and update with pleasing regularity to reflect the current state of play in the matchup. Most importantly of all, actually pouncing on these prices – when you see an opportunity you like – is easy. This is thanks to both a straightforward interface, and the responsiveness of the in-play tool itself.

As you’d expect, you can not just place in-play wagers here, but cash them out too. It’s easy to see in advance which markets will be eligible for a cash out, thanks to a handy dollar symbol. When you do decide it’s time to pull the trigger, you’ll find the cash out tool to be just as responsive as the in-play one, meaning – once again – that you can capitalise on any odds you like the look of in the moment.

Elsewhere, while there’s no live streaming at all available, HighBet does a decent job of keeping you up to date with the action via a visualisation tool. This has superior graphics to those on most platforms, and uses live statistics – provided by StatScore – to help you get a good idea of what’s going on.

HighBet Sign Up Process

The HighBet user interface isn’t the most advanced in the world, as we’ll outline shortly, but it’s certainly functional. Fortunately, this basic, stripped-down approach leads to a nicely-streamlined sign up process. There are only a few stages involved, and it takes barely a couple of minutes to complete.

To get the ball rolling here, head to the HighBet home page then click the ‘Create Account’ button. This will bring up a window, in which you must enter your email address, and set a username and password, before hitting the ‘Next’ button.

At the second stage, you must provide a few more personal details, including your full name, residential address, and phone number. This is also the point at which you should enter a promo code, if you have one.

Finally, just agree to the terms and conditions, and click the ‘Open Account’ button. Your account will now be created for you, and you’ll be free to start making deposits and placing bets.

HighBet ID Verification Process

As with all legitimate sportsbooks in the UK, you must verify your identity on HighBet before you can make your first withdrawal. This might sound like a pain, but is a requirement of the UK Gambling Commission. It also serves two important roles, in helping significantly to prevent identity fraud, and ensuring that bettors are over 18 years old.

As with creating your account in the first place, verifying it is extremely quick and easy on HighBet. While you can use the Document Uploader tool, getting in touch directly is arguably more straightforward, with these being the few steps you must take to do so:

  1. Log into your HighBet account
  2. Find the ‘Contact Us’ button at the bottom of your screen
  3. Select the ‘Live Chat’ option, wait to be connected with a support agent, and tell them you need to verify your identity
  4. You will now be asked to provide clear images for two pieces of ID. The first should show your photo, such as a passport or driving license. The second should display your home address, such as a bank statement or utility bill
  5. Once you’ve submitted your documents, you’ll be asked to wait for your identity to be verified
  6. This should be completed within 24 hours, after which you’re free to start making withdrawals

Banking Options

Considering it’s not exactly a premium brand, HighBet actually provides an extremely impressive range of deposit methods. In fact, the selection does compare favourably with much bigger and more established bookies.

Naturally, both debit cards and bank transfers can be used to fund your account here, as you’d expect. There’s also a nice selection of eWallets available to use, including Skrill and Neteller, and you can even use the prepaid card Paysafe. All deposits are instant except for bank transfer, which can take 3-6 days, and no fees are charged.

Most of the same methods can be used to make a HighBet withdrawal, with the usual exception of Paysafecard. Payouts aren’t particularly swift though, with even withdrawals to eWallets – the quickest options – taking up to three banking days. If you choose to use a debit card or bank transfer instead, it can take anywhere up to 6-8 days for the money to actually reach your account.

Customer Support

Use HighBet for long enough, and you’ll obviously encounter an issue sooner or later. When this does happen, you’ll find contacting the customer support team pleasingly straightforward.

To do so, just click the ‘Contact Us’ link at the bottom of the page. This will bring up the two available contact options: email, and live chat. While 24/7 support isn’t available for either, the coverage hours of 08:00 – 00:00 are still respectable.

Strangely, HighBet has not bothered to put any kind of FAQ or Help Centre in place. There are a couple of pages outlining the security measures and payment methods available, but that’s about it. As such, if you do have any issues whatsoever, you’ll need to contact the support team directly to get them solved.

Company Details

HighBet is a very new brand, having only launched in 2021. There’s still plenty of experience behind this sportsbook though, with industry veterans Aspire Global providing the actual technology behind the platform.

Importantly, HighBet holds licenses with both the United Kingdom Gambling Commission and Malta Gaming Authority. Both are respected regulatory bodies, who hold betting sites to the highest standards for both security and fairness. While little is known about HighBet’s parent company, Time Solutions Limited, these licenses should give you all the peace of mind you need. Finally, like many other betting brands which operate in the UK, HighBet is actually headquartered in Malta.

HighBet Bottom Line

We’ve spent plenty of time both researching this platform and using it for ourselves, during our testing for this HighBet review. Ultimately, we remain conflicted regarding how we feel about it.

By any measures, this is not a top-level sportsbook. It lacks too many special features to qualify – not just the premium ones, like live streaming, but also the likes of a mobile app, and even an FAQ section is absent here. The interface is extremely functional, and doesn’t feel enormously professional to use, and the complete lack of ongoing promotions is a major disappointment.

With all that said, there are also quite a few things to like about HighBet. The range of football betting opportunities is certainly impressive, and you can also wager on horse racing, tennis, eSports, and many of the other biggest markets. The odds are generally fair, and the in-play betting tools – for both placing and cashing out live wagers – are very good indeed. You’re also given a nice selection of payment methods, and the customer service coverage is solid.

Overall then, while HighBet isn’t the most exciting sportsbook in the world right now, there’s plenty of potential for growth here. Even in its current state, it’s worth your while to create an account, trigger the ‘Bet £15, Get a £10 Free Bet’ welcome offer, and try out the platform for yourself.
