LeoVegas is an award-winning mobile-first gambling operator that opened its virtual doors back in 2012. Although well-known for its online and mobile casino offering, in 2016 this Swedish company launched LeoVegas Sport and has rapidly made a name for itself in the digital sports betting world. Even if you’ve never experienced LeoVegas sports betting for yourself, this bookmaking brand’s name is likely familiar to you if you’re a Norwich City FC or Brentford FC fan. That’s because LeoVegas snapped up the opportunity to become the principal sponsor of both English Championship League football teams back in 2017. Of course, there’s a lot more to this bookmaker than sponsorship deals. Find out what makes this site a worthy contender to other top-rated sports betting sites in our LeoVegas Sports review. LeoVegas Sports has entered a crowded market which is dominated by trusted and established UK betting brands. The competition has many advantages but here are some of the important elements of LeoVegas Sport that make it attractive:
LeoVegas Sport Sign Up Offer

This offer accommodates both cautious and big bettors.
LeoVegas Betting Ongoing Promotions
If you’re the type of punter who likes taking advantage of the extra perks a bookmaker has to offer, LeoVegas has a couple of ongoing promotions that we feel are worth your perusal. First up is the LeoVegas Bet Club. Each week, place 5 qualifying real-money In-Play bets of £15 or more on Football, Tennis, Darts, Rugby League and Rugby Union, to receive a £10 Free Bet with LeoVegas Bet Club. Qualifying bets must be placed via mobile at odds of Evens or higher. Full T&Cs apply. Next – and one of our favourites – is the Best Odds Guaranteed offer.
If you like betting on horse racing, this is the promotion for you. Place a bet on any race in the UK or Ireland. If you take the price but the starting price winds up being bigger, you’ll be paid the higher price. For instance, if you place a 5/1 bet but your horse starts the race at 7/1, LeoVegas will pay you the 7/1 winnings. Full T&Cs apply. As a little tip of advice, if you are interested in taking part in any of the LeoVegas Sportsbook promotions, including the VIP Experience, make sure you have opted in by selecting “Yes” to offers, bonuses and communications in your account settings.
LeoVegas Markets & Betting Options
LeoVegas Sport offers an impressive array of markets ranging from football, tennis, horse racing, and North American sports, plus a whole lot more. There are also plenty of betting options available including a variety of live and in-play betting picks. When you browse sports a menu shows football, tennis, horse racing and more sports of which there are over 30. Football, tennis and horse racing are the most popular betting sports in the UK and here are the main features for each one.
It should come as no surprise that football is the biggest market, with LeoVegas covering the major football leagues and countries. In fact, not only are betting options broken down by country, but with the major football leagues, you will find nearly 300 different betting opportunities on an individual match. The main menu is arranged so that live matches appear on top, which is then usually followed by top competitions.
You can easily navigate all the different betting options for each market, once you select the desired one you want. LeoVegas offers football betting on leagues and Cups in over 50 countries. The countries covered include the main football leagues in Europe and top divisions in other parts of the world. There is also betting for matches in the Champions League and Europa League.
Customers with LeoVegas can also bet on international friendlies and matches in the UEFA Nations League. The Premier League in England is by far the most bet on league in the world and LeoVegas take most football bets on this league. The upcoming fixtures are displayed showing the match odds. This is a three-way market with home win, draw and away win the options. Odds are displayed in fractional format by default. The betting margin is almost 12% which is the biggest on the market. Some firms apply a margin of just 3% so LeoVegas’s odds are not good.
There are no related markets on offer but the fixtures are not taking place for 10 days due to an international break. We can assume nearer match day the related markets will appear. On the day the review was undertaken there were some international matches. There was a link to the additional markets which appear under the following headings:
- Full Time
- Total Goals
- Double Chance
- Both Teams To Score
- Asian Lines
- Goal Scorer
- Player Goals
- Player Specials
- Match Events
The quantity of related markets is impressive and as good as any service provided by the established UK brands. Customers can also bet on the outright winner of many leagues and Cup competitions. Cash Out is available on a few selected markets and pre-0match and in-play odds are available for many fixtures.
LeoVegas Sports offers betting on all meetings in Britain and Ireland but no international races. For each race there is a brief form guide, tip and ratings. Win and each way bets are allowed and the current price or starting price are offered. A small icon indicates whether the price is falling or going out which indicates the horses that are being backed and ignored.
LeoVegas Sport offers ante post betting on major upcoming races such as at the Cheltenham Festival, Royal Ascot and for the Grand National. In October odds were available on the following season’s Classics in May and June. The racing service is decent even if there are no overseas fixtures covered on a day-to-day basis.
LeoVegas Sports has odds for singles matches on the WTA and ATP Tours, Challenger Tour events and matches in ITF tournaments. This equates to three levels of the professional game for men and women. At the time of writing there was a Masters event for men taking place in Shanghai.
This level is one below the majors and the top players must compete in a certain number to ensure strong fields. Only match odds and set betting is available for each match which is a poor service compared to most other sports bookmakers. At the time of writing there were no outright odds for future events, even the Grand Slam tournaments. Overall, despite the range of matches and tours the tennis service is well below average.
As for other markets, there is horse racing, tennis, rugby, cricket, darts, boxing, cycling, golf, winter sports, UFC/MMA, WWE/Pro Wresting, etc. You’ll also find popular North American sports, such as American football, baseball, basketball and Ice Hockey. Moreover, LeoVegas offers betting options for non-traditional sporting markets like chess, snooker and E-Sports – including popular games like CS:GO & Dota 2 as well as other non-sports markets including TV & novelty and politics. The bottom line is that with its wide range of options, LeoVegas Sportsbook offers a little something for everyone to bet on.
There are live betting events for a number of sports including football, tennis, basketball, cricket and snooker. Depending on the stage of a football match there are a small number of in-play betting markets. Other operators offer a wider selection of live betting markets and more match information.
A graphic does show the score, time elapsed and the location of the ball and the team in possession. Markets are suspended after a significant event that affects the odds such as a goal, penalty, sending-off or major injury. In tennis a break of serve causes a big shift in the odds. It’s a good live betting sport due to price fluctuations. In a live tennis match at LeoVegas Sports odds change after each point. At various stages of a match both players could be the favourite or underdog. Cash out is available for a number of sports and markets.
LeoVegas Apps & Mobile Betting Options
We’ve already established that LeoVegas is the king of mobile, with easy navigation and flawless layout on smartphones and tablets. Everything flows naturally, seamlessly and quickly on the LeoVegas app, which is available for both iOS mobile devices in the Apple App Store and Android mobile devices in the Google Play Store.
In our experience, downloading, installing, signing up, browsing markets, placing in-play bets and cashing out an existing bets was a simple and no-nonsense process. It was even easy to tap into the LeoVegas casino and live casino offerings, if iGaming is something you enjoy. Our testing of the app was glitch-free and we think it is one of the better mobile sports betting experiences out there.
LeoVegas Sport Sign Up Process
The LeoVegas website can be accessed at www.leovegas.com. The Home Page has a menu with the following options: Casino, Live Casino and Sport. Existing customers open their account by entering the registered email and unique Password. Potential new customers click the box ‘OPEN ACCOUNT’. Personal details and a unique account password are entered. There is an option to claim a bonus which can be for the casino, live casino or sportsbook.
You must enter a validation code which is sent by text message to the registered email. Once address and date of birth fields have been completed the ‘OPEN ACCOUNT’ button is clicked. The account has to be activated through a welcome message sent to the registered email address. The deposit page is automatically displayed and new customers have the option of setting a weekly limit. There are a number of deposit options including bank transfer, debit and credit cards and Paypal. The minimum deposit is £10 and the maximum deposit is £1,000 but limits can be set.
There is no fee for making a deposit and the funds are immediately available. Once the initial deposit has been accepted betting can begin. Users click on the odds in a market and a betting slip is displayed. The stake is entered and the potential payout is shown based on the odds and stake. The betting slip also indicates if Cash out is available on the market. Once more selections are added customers have the option of specifying combination and system bets.
Once all the required details have been entered customers click ‘PLACE BET’. When the bet is accepted the account is updated with the current balance. The three basic procedures are simple and clear and the whole process takes less than 10 minutes if the details are correct and the required fields have been populated correctly. New customers can see attractive odds or a decent welcome offer and can be betting in a short space of time which compares favourably with other operators.
First and foremost, as we previously mentioned in our LeoVegas sports review, this is a mobile-first gambling company. Not only are most of its offers mobile only, but we discovered that its mobile platform is far superior to its desktop version. Therefore, if you prefer a desktop sports betting experience, you’re likely to enjoy the desktop experiences of other sportsbooks more. That said, there was no trouble signing up on both platforms.
However, the mobile platform (we used Android) was more colourful and had a much smoother interface and better navigation than desktop, which was a little more clunky and old in its design. This is interesting because the mobile app looks exactly like the desktop version. Don’t get us wrong, LeoVegas on desktop is still user-friendly with simple navigation. You can easily access your account, betting options, markets, support, etc. It just doesn’t have the same pizazz as mobile, where the layout is crisp and you’re always only a few taps away from placing a bet or taking advantage of great offers. For this sportsbook, we highly recommend you choose LeoVegas mobile if you want the best experience.
LeoVegas Sport is a relatively new operator and offers a good and varied betting experience. The operator created an excellent casino and is now replicating the best features of that product in a sportsbook. However, the customer interface is basic with limited options on the Home Page. In fact the website has a very unsophisticated design.
Navigation is not intuitive and there is no sports menu. The colour scheme is not very attractive and the Home Page looks messy and there is no clear branding. On selecting the Sports option users are taken to a page which displays the new customer offer and you have to scroll down the page to see any betting markets. The top betting markets for each sport are shown but you have to browse through a menu to see betting markets for each sport. The sports are arranged in alphabetical order.
Security & Banking
LeoVegas offers a small variety of banking options. Among these include: credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), eWallets (PayPal, Neteller, Skrill), prepaid cards (Paysafe card) and bank transfers. Deposits are near instant for most payment options, with the minimum amount that you can deposit being £10.
List of deposit methods: Maestro, MasterCard, Neteller, Paysafe Card, Visa, POLi, Trustly, Skrill.
The LeoVegas minimum withdrawal amount is also £10. Additionally, most deposit methods can be used to make a withdrawal. That being said, keep in mind that typically you are required to make a withdrawal using the same method you used to make a deposit. In terms of security, LeoVegas Sport meets our high security standards, as we only list and review legitimate and safe betting sites.
The brand fully complies with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) by using a variety of technical controls to ensure player data and information are always encrypted during transfers and when at rest, via industry standard encryption techniques. In short, every effort is made to ensure your personal data and money remains safe and secure 100% of the time. We also like that LeoVegas takes responsible gaming very seriously and has implemented a LeoSafePlay feature. In addition to being able to set deposit limits, it provides information, tools and resources to help bettors stay in control of their gambling.
Our experience with customer support at LeoVegas was a positive one. A Toll-free phone number, email and live chat are available 24/7, if you need to get in touch with a representative. The fastest options of the three are live chat and phone if you need a rapid response. LeoVegas also has an in-depth FAQ that is extremely helpful when you’re looking for quick and general answers about accounts, deposits, withdrawals, bonuses, etc.
For instance, we had a question about how long the account verification process would take and learned from the FAQ, that once our documents were verified, the process would be complete within 72 hours and we would be notified via email when it was complete. You shouldn’t have a problem getting the help/answers you need from the FAQ section or by contacting support.
More on the Bookmaker
LeoVegas Sport started in 2016 and is part of the Swedish mobile gaming company LeoVegas, co-founded by Gustaf Hagman and Robin Ramm-Ericson. It was the dream of the two co-founders to create the greatest gaming experience on mobile devices. Today, the company has more than 700 employees, is one of Europe’s leading mobile gaming companies, and is the leading mobile casino. Having won several awards for its innovations, particularly for mobile, LeoVegas has steadily grown throughout the years, since its inception in 2012.
Although still relatively new, the sportsbook offering is ever-improving and the brand has further shown its commitments to sports with two FC sponsorship deals (Norwich City and Brentford) and a Rugby Union (Leicester Tigers) sponsorship deal.
LeoVegas Sports Betting Review Summary
Although its roots in sports betting do not run as deep as other well-established brands that have been around for decades, LeoVegas Sport is definitely worth a try, especially if you’re a bettor who prefers mobile to desktop. The LeoVegas app is the king of the sportsbook mobile jungle, and with a premium experience on both iOS and Android, it’s easy to back your favourite sports teams on the go.
The welcome offer is also a solid win, as is their extensive range of betting markets that include more than just your standard range of sports. There truly is something to suit all tastes and budgets. The bottom line is that, while still a bit of a newbie, LeoVegas Sport has a lot to offer. If you decide you’d like to take this bookie for a test drive yourself, we recommend scoring the matched free bet offer with your first deposit.
